IT Emergency lesson 3
Primary school days
Aren't like hay.
They ain't so dry
But quickly went by.
We played together,
and ate together.
We loved the laksa,
but not the salsa. (I'm referring to the sauce, not the dance!)
We made teachers mad
By being oh so bad.
The scolding was worth,
cause we've got her nerve.
Primary school days
Aren't like hay.
They ain't so dry
But quickly went by.

I chose this poet as his poems are full of feelings. Just by reading his poems, the reader can really feel the same way the poet was feeling when he wrote the poems. He portrays loneliness and sadness excellently. Almost all his poems are about loneliness and sadness. This really shows the personality and feeling of the poet that I chose. It is also evident in his poems that he likes poetry a lot. Many of his poems also include the word poem in some way or another – writing about chances to write a poem.
He is like an underdog. He's poems are really good, and has won contests held by the club. Sadly, no famous poet recognizes his works. As a result, he has not been to any interview.
NightFlyer is known in the club, and has been awarded a very high score. He has been rated 4.9 out of 5. (The rating is the average rate out of the sixty-seven people who have rated him.) This shows that people have read and enjoyed his poems.
As his works are not recognised, I am not able to comment further on him and his works.
But, here are 3 of his poems that I like.
This Wretched Path
Branches move and sadly sway
Their farewell to this long day
Shadows over woodlands, creep
As this village drifts to sleep.
The sad song of a twilight loon
Greets the rising crescent moon
As sunset's crimson fades to black
For healing love, I feel a lack.
Far past the twilight's interlude
I pay the price for solitude
The night has rendered my dreams dark
So down these empty streets I walk.
Now toward my cabin, I retreat
As day to night passes complete
In evening's chill, its plainly shown
This wretched path, I walk alone.
This need for love, inside it drums
So cruel a sting when nightime comes
As loneliness inwardly maims
Another night, my heart, it claims.
Soon in my cabin, I'll recline
And pour a glass of bitter wine
And drift to sleep's merciful arms
To dream of some fair lover's charms.
The Freedom Of The Sea
Brave sailors who sailed distant seas
In ages, crossing Neptune's realm
Sweet treasure's call, their minds, it pleased
Through surging waves, they took the helm.
With sextants held neath silver stars
They plied swift currents in the breeze
And sailed their ships to islands far
Past harbor lights and port cities.
For what rich treasures spurred their quests
For gold or silver, were they sent
With wanderlust that never rests
To ends of earth they gladly went.
But give me treasure that is real
The chance to write some poetry
On swirling waves, this heart will heal
And feel the freedom of the sea.
Don't want to stay here anymore
And drown in my uncertainties
I'd rather hear the ocean's roar
And see Gibraltar's majesty.
And know that I shall join someday
Those ancient mariners of yore
And reach that land so far away
Elysium's enchanted shore.
Pathways Of The Mind
A mystic path winds through my mind
Of misty gold, its trees sublime
Where heaven's winds caress the fields
A Summer dreamscape so surreal
And it spurs me to venture on
To emerald depths of Avalon
Where music dances on the breeze
And magic swirls amidst the trees
More blissful realms, I'll never find
These dreamy pathways of the mind.

Emergency IT Lesson 1: Figurative Language
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow--
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore**,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand--
How few! yet how they (sand) creep**
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep--while I weep!*
O God!* can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God!* can I not save
One from the pitiless wave**?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
*Hyperbole
The repetition of ' While I weep, while I weep' and 'O God', shows and emphasizes on his feelings – the sadness and desperateness.
**Personification
The poet writes that the shore has been tormented by the waves. By giving something that does bit have feelings feelings, it is a example of personification. Another example is the ' pitiless waves'. The poet tries to bring out the feeling that the waves are brutal and unrelenting, to show that it is a difficult task to overpower and 'win' the waves.
(p.s. the others are not in the content of the poem)
I like this poem not because there are only 2 points that are present in the poem, but because the poem flows nicely like a story. Its is really easy to understand, and is not like the other poems which are abstract at times. I also like the personification of the poem. It is meaningful and it effectively bring forth the point that the poet is trying to express.

Projects day.
My group has decided to either make a broom with retractable bristles of to make a 'mop drier'.
This is how my group has decided on why to do this:
Broom with retractable bristles:
Many people face the problem of where to put their broom. Drilling a hole in the wall to put a hook will be too troublesome. having a 'S' shape hook will be too unsightly. And if they are to just make the broom stand by leaning it against something, the bristles will spread out and bend, making sweeping less efficient. So our group has decided to make a broom with retractable bristles so that it will become like a stick when retracted. An added feature is a head of the "ah-khey", the tool used to bring the bamboo poles up onto the bamboo hooks in HDB lifts.
Mop drier:
Carlin faces the problem of squeezing the mop dry after mopping the floor and so he thought of using the mechanism of the salad maker and install it in the mop pail. So all the people have to do is put the mop in and the mechanism will start spinning, producing wind, and with a little squeezing, the mop should dry very fast. But this might be a little costly.
We will most slightly do the first one due to the unsureness on how to go about doing the second one. Please leave your comment. Thanks!

Homework!! (200word essay on newspaper??)
The reason to why I agree is very simple. when we look at it, America, being one of the leading countries of the world, is affected by the crisis. and if barackobama can lead the United states to bounce back up onto their feets, bounce back up on track, slowly but steadly, the world will be able to follow suit.
And i believe that obama will be able to give America a 180 degree and help the united states to recover because as a father, he will be able to relate the country to his own family. If his family is a trouble, he will try his best to ease his family of the trouble, and thus he will feel the urgency to help the country recover.
If you have any comment or want to add on this, please feel free to leave a mesage.
